I have been a fan of Jim Stroud’s work for a long time now.
His site http://www.therecruiterslounge.com/ is a rich source of information and advice on sourcing and recruiting, perhaps one of the best out there.
Jim has started a page on Facebook and I encourage you all to become his fans:

Are you going to #ereexpo this fall? Whether you are going or not, you are welcome to join me for a free preview of my “Boolean Strings Workshop” at the ERE Expo (Sept 9-11, Holywood, FL) that is scheduled for September 9, 2 pm-5 pm.
I will briefly go over the outline (see below) and will answer your questions.
Date/time: Wed, Aug 19, 4 pm Eastern/1 pm Pacific.
ERE SESSION DESCRIPTION:
Do you want to learn to find (or get better at finding) hidden talent on the web but can’t afford to spend too much time figuring it out on your own? This session will help a “Boolean Beginner” to get going and an Intermediate level person to refresh and sharpen his/her skills.
Learn from a web expert and a hands-on sourcer. In this interactive session we will go over:
“Boolean Beginner/Intermediate Strings”
Do you feel overwhelmed with the amount of search sites and tools out there? Many people do. But there’s no real need to know about them all to be productive. You will learn about a limited number of carefully selected search engines’ capabilities. Hands-on practice with this toolkit will bring results — and will get you ready to master more tools in the future.
Practical hints.
Have you had experience applying a string from a cheatsheet or a publication to your search, only to see that it didn’t work for you? In the session you will learn practical skills for string modification and getting the results you want.
Best practices in Web sourcing.
Do you feel you may use some help applying your web search knowledge to the sourcing process? In this session you will learn which steps to take to quickly get from a job description to a list of promising candidates. You will learn about typical syntax mistakes and how to avoid them.
Working with real-life samples.
Do you have an ongoing search and curious how to address it? You’ll have a chance to go over real-life examples and suggest your own.
The session comes with a complementary DVD with recordings and Boolean articles, and also with unlimited Q&A with Irina Shamaeva over a period of one month. ***
